First potential Kansas City heat death for 2015

A woman in her mid-80s may be the first heat death victim on the Missouri side of the Kansas City metropolitan area this year.

Her death is under investigation by Jackson County Medical Examiner’s office as possibly heat related, the Kansas City Health Department said Monday.

There were four confirmed heat-related deaths last year on the Missouri side of the metro area.
