Shawnee man drowns in pool at Overland Park apartment complex

A 32-year-old Shawnee man died Saturday night in an apparent drowning in the swimming pool at Fiesta Square apartments at 9551 W. 85th St., Overland Park.

The man, a guest of a Fiesta Square resident, was found at the bottom of the pool.

Police responded to the incident at 7:45 p.m. Medical personnel administered CPR to the victim but it was discontinued after the victim was unresponsive for 30 minutes, police said.

The victim’s name was being withheld until family is notified.
