An Independence man died Wednesday after his motorcycle hit a Kansas City police patrol wagon.

Police said Robert G. Eubanks, 33, was traveling west on 31st Street about 1:30 a.m. when he failed to stop at a stoplight at Van Brunt Boulevard. His motorcycle crashed into the patrol wagon’s passenger side.

Eubanks later died at a hospital.

Police released dash camera video Wednesday night from the patrol wagon that shows it had a green light as it traveled through the intersection at the time of the crash. The video shows the van spinning after being hit by the motorcycle.

The patrol wagon’s driver was not injured.
