Johnson, Wyandotte counties add 175 COVID-19 cases. Missouri data not available

Johnson and Wyandotte counties in Kansas on Saturday reported 175 total new cases of COVID-19 and two new deaths.

Missouri numbers were not available due to technology upgrades, according to the state’s Department of Health and Senior Services.

In Johnson County, the total number of COVID-19 cases is now at 5,643 — up by 121 cases from Friday. There have been 103 deaths in the county.

In Wyandotte County, 4,864 cases have been confirmed — an increase of 54 cases from Friday — and 99 people have died.

Nearly 18% of those tested for the coronavirus in Wyandotte County tested positive.

In Johnson County, people tested positive at a rate of about 6.8%.

Across Kansas as of Friday, the last day for which statewide data was available, 30,638 people had tested positive and 380 people had died.

As of Friday, there were 3,909 cases and 53 deaths in Jackson County, 1,011 cases and 20 deaths in Clay County and 343 cases and 10 deaths in Platte County. In Kansas City, there were 6,476 cases and 61 deaths.
