Motorcyclist dies after losing control of his vehicle in Overland Park, police say

Update: Overland Park police on Friday identified the motorcyclist killed in the Thursday afternoon crash as 26-year-old Dakota L. Wohlers of Overland Park.

A motorcycle driver died after losing control of his vehicle Thursday afternoon in Overland Park, police said.

Overland Park police responded to an accident near Frontage Drive and Farley Street just before 4:30 p.m. after a motorcycle driver traveling on southbound on Frontage lost control and fell off his vehicle, police said. The motorcycle then collided with another vehicle, but there were no other injuries.

The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. He was identified Friday by police as 26-year-old Dakota L. Wohlers of Overland Park.

Frontage Drive had been closed from 75th through 79th streets as police investigated the scene until about 7:30 p.m.
