Man killed after fall from golf cart in Miami County

A Paola, Kan., man died from a head injury Sunday after falling from a golf cart.

The Miami County Sheriff’s Office identified the man as Michael Thomas Everhart, whose 30th birthday would have been Monday.

Everhart was one of four adults riding on the golf cart when the accident occurred about 3:30 a.m. Sunday on 343rd Street between Hospital Drive and Harmony Road, according to the sheriff’s office.

He was taken to a hospital in Overland Park where he later died from his injuries.

The incident is under investigation.
