Car lands in creek, seriously injuring driver in south Kansas City, police say

A driver was seriously injured early Friday morning after a vehicle lost control and flipped into a creek in south Kansas City, according to police.

The crash was reported after 7 a.m. at Raytown Road near East 96th Street, Kansas City police said in a statement.

Police said an Oldsmobile was traveling north on Raytown Road when the driver lost control, drove off the road to the right and flipped to its top into a creek.

The driver was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, police said.

The police department’s accident investigation section was investigating the wreck.
