Death investigation underway after body found in Kansas City, Kansas creek bed

Police launched a death investigation Sunday morning after a body was found in a creek bed in Kansas City, Kansas.

Officers responded about 11:25 a.m. to a call of what appeared to be a body in a creek near the 800 block of South 72nd Street, according to the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department.

There, officers discovered the body of a man in the creek bed. His age remained unknown.

The incident was under investigation by the department’s detective division.
