After five baby goats were born Monday, the Kansas City Zoo wants help naming three

After five baby goats were born on Monday, the Kansas City Zoo is asking for help naming a set of triplets.

The babies are all Arapawa goats, an endangered breed that originates in New Zealand, the zoo said in a news release Friday.

One goat, Gretel, had twins and the other, Poppy, had triplets, the release said.

Zookeepers have built a list of name options for the triplets, including Chief, Royal and Maverick and Mario, Luigi and Bowser for the public to vote on.

Those interested can vote at kansascityzoo.org/name-our-goat-kids. The names will be announced on the zoo’s Facebook page on Tuesday.

The zoo is temporarily closed because of COVID-19.
