Kearney man struck and killed by car on Highway 69 in Excelsior Springs

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car on Highway 69 Wednesday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

George A. Weaver, 76, of Kearney, was walking on the highway just south of Vintage Drive when a southbound vehicle struck him about 7:20 a.m. Wednesday, according to the highway patrol’s crash report.

The driver’s vehicle had minor damage.

Weaver was pronounced dead at the scene.

This was Troop A’s 10th fatality this year.
