Driver dies after car leaves road, strikes large tree in Kansas City, police say
A driver died Tuesday afternoon after his car struck a large tree in Kansas City, police said.
Officers responded to the single-vehicle crash about 1:50 p.m. at Ward Parkway and East 55th Street, where they found a wrecked Jaguar, according to the Kansas City Police Department.
The driver, the only person in the car, died at the scene. He was not wearing his seat belt, police said.
Investigators believe the Jaguar was traveling at high speeds as it headed north on Ward Parkway. For unknown reasons, the car left the road and hit the tree, police said.
