Motorcyclist seriously injured in two-vehicle crash in Kansas City

A motorcycle rider suffered life-threatening injuries Monday in a collision with a car near Lee’s Summit and Woods Chapel roads in Kansas City.

The crash occurred just before 5 p.m. Police said a black Mitsubishi sedan pulled out on to the roadway from a private lot and was struck by a southbound black Suzuki motorcycle, according to the Kansas City Police Department.

The motorcyclist, who was not identified by police, was transported to an area hospital and was in serious condition, police said.

The driver, who was alone in the car, was not injured. The accident is still being investigated by police.
