Woman killed in Northland traffic crash

A woman was killed late Thursday night in a traffic crash on Interstate 435 in Kansas City, North.

The wreck occurred about 10:40 p.m. Thursday in the westbound lanes of the interstate near where it intersects with North Woodland Avenue.

Kansas City police said the woman’s car was sitting sideways in the traffic lanes of the interstate when it was struck by a tractor-trailer.

The woman was killed instantly, police said. The truck driver was not injured and was released after giving a statement to police.
