Body of KCK man swept into Kansas river found in Missouri
The body of a Kansas City, Kan., man swept into the Kansas River on May 29 has been found in the Missouri River in Lafayette County, Mo.
Kansas City, Kan., police said Monday that 30-year-old John R. Shead Jr. was in the cab of a pickup truck that a witness said she saw swept into the entrance of a rain-swollen tunnel connecting Turkey Creek with the Kansas River.
Fire crews from both Kansas City and Kansas City, Kan., searched the Kansas and Missouri rivers for several hours but found nothing.
Police said that Shead’s body was recovered Friday between Lexington and Waverly in Lafayette County.
