Munday on Monday: Lengthy line
Lengthy line
The line has grown, yet still we wait;
Arrival time has picked our fate.
’Cause once you take your place in line
You’re bound by etiquette designed
That everyone must guard the place
Of all who’ve earned specific space.
Our etiquette will never skip;
So do not even think you’ll slip
Ahead of those who’ve longer stood;
You’ll be rebuffed, as well you should.
We’ll indicate — so don’t pretend —
Your proper place is at the end.
For patience just is not a trait
Of those who’ve lengthy had to wait.
