Navy’s Blue Angels fly into KC to announce they will appear in air show next summer

Pilots with the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels demonstration squadron flew into Kansas City Tuesday afternoon to announce that they will appear in the 2019 KC Air Show.

The air show will be held next summer at the Wheeler Downtown Airport on July 6-7, according to event organizers.

The Blue Angels pilots toured the Downtown Airport, reviewing operational plans and working on other logistics for the team’s participation in the show.

The airshow is organized by KC Air Show Charities Inc.

When the Blue Angels visited Kansas City in 2015, they drew record crowds to the Downtown Airport. Thousands of exiting air show fans, however, were caught in a crush that took some two hours to clear.
