Tree service worker dies after 60-foot fall, says KCK police
A man died after he fell from a tree trimming vehicle in Kansas City, Kan., Friday afternoon, police said.
The incident occurred just before 1 p.m. in the area of 82nd Street and Garfield Avenue. Police said a male worker was trimming branches when the boom bucket he was in broke and tilted sideways.
Kansas City, Kan., Police Chief Terry Zeigler said in a tweet that the worker fell about 60 feet.
The man was taken to a hospital where he died of his injuries.
The victim’s identity has not been released, but police said it appeared the man was in his mid-40s.
The death remains under investigation.
