A multi-vehicle wreck temporarily shut down all lanes of U.S. 71 south Wednesday in Kansas City, putting cars at a standstill for about half an hour.
The crash happened sometime before 5:30 p.m. at U.S. 71 south and Bannister Road.
Police were seen on traffic camera footage directing traffic. Drivers were turning around on the highway.
The roadway was reopened just before 6 p.m., the Kansas City District of the Missouri Department of Transportation said in a tweet.
It’s unclear if anyone was injured in the crash.
This is a developing story.
