A water main break flooded parts of an intersection in the Waldo area Friday night, causing at least two motorists to get stuck.

Water was seen gushing out into the road at West 80th Street and Brookside Road.

An advisory posted on the KC Water website at around 6:12 p.m. said residents in the area would experience low water pressure to having no water temporarily in the 200 block of West 80th Street due to the water main break.

It’s unclear what caused the main break, though by 6:45 p.m. KC Water crews responded to the scene and shut off the water in the area.

Kansas City police also responded to the scene earlier in the night.

A Jeep was towed after it got stuck in the water.

Later on, a van was seen driving past a barricade on 80th Street when it got stuck in a hole covered by water.

No injuries were reported.
