Liberty girl hit by truck dies from injuries days after crash, police say
An 11-year-old Liberty girl who was struck by a vehicle while riding her bicycle died of her injuries on Tuesday, police said in a news release.
The child was identified as Addisen R. Snyder.
The crash happened 5:44 p.m. Saturday at Southview Drive and Sherrill Avenue. Police said a preliminary investigation showed Addisen was riding her bicycle from Sherrill Avenue onto Southview Drive when she was hit by a southbound 1993 Toyota pickup truck.
The girl was taken to a hospital with critical injuries. She died Tuesday night, three days after the crash.
Police said the pickup truck driver, a 41-year-old Liberty man, was cooperating with the ongoing police investigation.
While police are still investigating the crash, neighbors have left balloons, stuffed animals, flowers and messages of love and support for Addisen and her family.
“We love u Addi,” said one handwritten message on a sign placed alongside Southview Drive. The sign warned motorists: “Drive like your kids live here.”
