Man shocked by power line resuscitated by KC police, EMS

A Kansas City police sergeant and EMS workers resuscitated a man who was shocked when his ladder contacted a power line Friday morning.

The incident happened around 9:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of East 43rd Street.

The man had no pulse and was not breathing when a police sergeant arrived on the scene. The sergeant started CPR for several minutes and the victim began to attempt to breath, according to police.

EMS workers took over and performed CPR while the man was taken to a hospital, according to a fire official. The man was in critical condition at the hospital.
