Shawnee police investigate report of man trying to lure kids into van
Two 12-year-old children told Shawnee police that a man tried to lure them into his van Monday night with the promise he would take them “some place quiet.”
Police said the attempted aggravated indecent solicitation of a child occurred about 8:40 p.m. in the 6400 block of Zarda Drive in western Shawnee.
The two children told police that the man was driving a white van. He did not attempt to grab them. The children fled to the home of a neighbor, who walked the children home.
