Three men killed in separate Independence automobile crashes are identified

Independence police on Tuesday released the names of three men killed in recent automobile crashes.

Clint Reno, 19, of Blue Springs died early Monday in a crash near Missouri 78 and Holke Road.

Reno was a passenger in a vehicle that left the road and traveled across a field before striking a tree, according to police. The driver was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Another Blue Springs man, 59-year-old Roger Bence, was killed Saturday night when his motorcycle struck an unoccupied, disabled vehicle along the side of Interstate 70 east of Interstate 470.

Last Thursday, Austin Long, 20, of Independence died when the vehicle he was driving collided with a tractor-trailer at Missouri 291 and Independence Avenue. Police said the truck driver was not injured.

Police said Tuesday that all three wrecks remain under investigation.
