Construction and safety concerns have forced the March of Dimes to change the route for this year’s Bikers for Babies fundraiser.

The event, which will take place on Sunday, is expected to attract about 5,000 riders.

The route was changed after some riders already picked up their maps at pre-registration.

The new route will take riders to and from the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., on the following path:

▪ South on Interstate 435

▪ West on Kansas 32

▪ West on U.S. 24/40

▪ North on U.S. 59

▪ East on Kansas 16, with an optional rest stop in McLouth, Kan.

▪ East on U.S. 24/40

The ride begins at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Kansas Speedway.

For more information about the event, see Kansas City Bikers for Babies website.
