All westbound lanes of Interstate 70 near the Blue Ridge Cutoff have reopened after a crash caused traffic to back up to Noland Road.

The crash, which occurred about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, closed westbound I-70 for a short time.

Several lanes of the highway, however, remained closed and traffic was squeezing past the wreckage only on the shoulder.

The highway reopened about 12:15 p.m.

As crews worked to clear the wreckage, eastbound I-70 traffic was backing up near the crash as drivers passed the emergency crews.
