After storms for first part of weekend, Kansas City to see break on Sunday
It’s going to be a wet start for the Kansas City area this weekend as showers and thunderstorms are likely to move through on Friday and Saturday.
Scattered showers and storms are expected to pop up in the morning and into the afternoon Friday, before dissipating by evening. No severe weather is expected with Friday’s storms.
Friday will be warm as temperatures are expected to reach around 80 degrees in Kansas City.
There’s a chance of showers and thunderstorms for most of the day Saturday, with storms becoming more likely in the evening and into early Sunday.
There’s a chance for severe storms across the Kansas City area Saturday evening and night, with damaging winds and large hail the main threats.
Saturday’s highs will be near 80 degrees.
Rain is expected to gradually end early Sunday morning, giving way to mostly sunny skies. Highs are likely to climb into the lower 80s by Sunday afternoon.
The workweek will get off to a dry, cooler start, with highs reaching only the middle 60s on Monday and Tuesday. The chance of rain returns Wednesday as the next storm system is expected to move across the central United States.
