According to the TSA, the owner of the carry-on, a 50-year-old male, was traveling to Charlotte Douglas International Airport. He will face civil penalties from the TSA of up to or exceeding $11,000 for multiple prohibited items.
“The individual self-surrendered the items in question to the FBI, which enabled that individual to continue with his travel,” Bridget Patton, spokesperson for the FBI’s Kansas City division, said.
Additional information on the incident was not available since the case is pending, Patton said.
