Sunny skies over Kansas City will give way to showers, thunderstorms later this week
Kansas City residents might have a sense that they’ve seen this before when it comes to this week’s weather.
The weather pattern is setting up to be nearly identical to the end of last week.
That means the Kansas City area will likely see several rounds of storms beginning Wednesday night through Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
But first, there will be sunny skies with highs in the middle 60s to near 70 on Tuesday. Clouds will increase through the day Wednesday, with highs in the lower 70s. Much of the day, however, will remain dry.
The showers and thunderstorms return Wednesday night and Thursday. These storms, however, are not expected to be severe, according ot the National Weather Service.
Several rounds of storms are expected Friday through Sunday. It’s too early to determine if the storms will become severe. Most of the storms are not expected to be severe, however, storms on Saturday and Saturday night have the greatest potential to becoming severe, according to the National Weather Service.
Highs are expected to remain in the upper 60s to upper 70s through Sunday.
