Driver killed in Blue Parkway accident in Lee’s Summit
A driver was killed Sunday afternoon in a two-car accident on Blue Parkway over Interstate 470, police said.
An initial investigation showed that the motorist who died had been traveling west on the exit ramp from I-470 and through the intersection when he was hit by a vehicle northbound on Blue Parkway, said Sgt. Chris Depue of Lee’s Summit police.
The driver of the second vehicle was taken to a hospital and was in stable condition. Neither car had passengers.
The name of the deceased driver wasn’t released, pending notification of relatives.
Police were called to the scene at about 1 p.m. and were interviewing witnesses, Depue said.
