Toddler seriously injured by lawn mower in Leavenworth County

A 15-month-old toddler was run over by a riding lawn mower Wednesday evening in Leavenworth County and flown to a hospital with major injuries to the legs.

Leavenworth County Undersheriff Jim Sherley said the incident happened about 7 p.m. in the 142000 block of Metro Avenue, just outside Bonner Springs.

Sherley said the child was a resident of the address where the incident occurred.
