Pilot lands in field near Gardner after losing oil pressure
A small “home-built” aircraft landed in a field outside Gardner Monday morning after the pilot reported losing oil pressure.
The pilot, the only occupant of the Long-EZ home-built aircraft, was “up and walking around” after the incident, said Natalie Blair, a Johnson County spokeswoman.
The plane landed about 9:50 a.m. in a field at 175th St. and Four Corners, about five miles west of New Century Airport after taking off from the facility, Blair said.
