Driver dies after crashing into end of bridge on Truman Road in Independence
A person driving on the shoulder of East Truman Road died early Tuesday after crashing into the end of a bridge in eastern Independence.
The crash occurred about 1:40 a.m. near Alexander Road. The crash victim was driving on the shoulder while headed west on Truman Road. The car slammed into the end of the bridge near South Alexander Road, according to Independence police.
Acquaintances rushed the driver to a hospital where the driver died.
Police were withholding the name of the deceased until family could be notified.
Police continue to investigate the crash.
