Two popular walks and runs this weekend will impact traffic on and near the Country Club Plaza.

The Aids Walk Kansas City 2015 is Saturday and the Trolley Run is on Sunday.

The AIDS Walk will begin with registration at 8 a.m. with the walk starting at 10 a.m. Saturday at Theis Park, which is east of the Plaza at Oak Street and Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard.

The 3.5 mile walk takes participants from the park east on Cleaver II Boulevard across Main Street to Mill Creek Park.

Walkers travels north through the park and then take 43rd Street east to Oak Street. Walkers then follow Rockhill Road south across Volker Boulevard and then south on Cherry Street.

At 52nd Street, walkers head west and then follow Oak north returning to Theis Park.

The walk takes about 1 1/2 hours to complete.

On Sunday, the 27th annual Trolley Run, benefiting the Children’s Center for the Visually Impaired, will take place.

The race starts at 75th Street and Wornall Road and ends on the Country Club Plaza.

The four-mile course winds through the Waldo and Brookside neighborhoods.

While the race doesn’t begin until 7:45 a.m., preparations for race start early.

Kansas City police this week urged motorists to obey the “Emergency No Parking” signs on The Plaza.

Police said they will start ticketing and towing vehicles at 4 a.m. Sunday.

Race organizers provide transportation from the Plaza to the Start Line beginning at 6 a.m., with the last runner bus leaving at 7:20 a.m. and the last walker bus at 7:45 a.m.
