Kansas City arts administrator leaving for job in Lawrence

Porter Arneill, who has administered Kansas City’s public arts program for 13 years, is leaving to become director of arts and culture in Lawrence.

His last day in Kansas City government is April 22 and he starts his new job in early May.

Arneill said Kansas City is moving in a great direction in the realms of art, craft, design and culture, and he’s excited about leading Lawrence’s new cultural planning process.
