North Kansas City Hospital reopens emergency room
North Kansas City Hospital reopened its emergency room Tuesday evening after a water main break interrupted hospital routine earlier in the day.
Planned surgeries will be performed Wednesday, the hospital said on its Facebook page.
Limited water service has been restored to the hospital, but officials are awaiting tests from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources to verify it is safe to consume.
The hospital closed its emergency department to ambulances and canceled surgeries on Tuesday.
The water main break happened near Vernon/Clay Edwards Drive in North Kansas City. Efforts to repair the break inadvertently ruptured a gas line.
