A memorial Mass at St. Peter’s Church in Kansas City on Monday morning honored William L. Corporon, Reat Underwood and parishioner Terri LaManno, who were shot and killed April 13, 2014, outside of Jewish facilities in Overland Park.
A “7 Days Peace Walk” starts at 6 p.m. Monday at the Jewish Community Center and ends with an 8 p.m. celebration at the Church of the Resurrection in Leawood.
A 5:45 p.m. pre-walk event begins with remarks from Overland Park Mayor Carl Gerlach and Kansas City Mayor Sly James at the Jewish Community Campus.
Participants are asked to preregister at http://givesevendays.org. Participants should park at the Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe. Bus transportation will be provided to the starting line at the Jewish Campus.
Corporon and his grandson, Underwood, were shot to death outside the Jewish Community Center. LaManno was killed a few minutes later outside the Village Shalom care center.
F. Glenn Miller Jr. is charged with capital murder and faces a possible death sentence.
