Munday on Monday: Teardown
Teardown
Just yesterday, a house had stood
(A stalwart of this neighborhood)
But now a vacant lot gapes forth;
“It’s spring,” I thought; “They’re headed north.”
The great migration: underway;
Come June, the shores of Hudson Bay
Will teem with houses — name a few?
Why, Cape Cods — Georgians — Tudors — whew!
But someone sees my theory’s flaws:
A teardown is more likely cause.
“We’ll know who’s right come fall,” I said,
“When all the houses southward head.”
