Pedestrian struck, killed while walking near U.S. 40, Phelps Road in KC
One person was killed after being struck by a car while walking Wednesday evening in Kansas City.
Police said the pedestrian was struck about 8:40 p.m. near U.S. 40 and South Phelps Road.
The driver, police said, remained on the scene after the wreck.
U.S. 40 was shut down from Noland Road to Phelps while police investigated the incident.
