Missouri transportation officials use humor to send important messages
Electronic message boards along the highway usually warn of traffic snarls ahead.
But sometimes you’ve just got to laugh.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the Missouri Department of Transportation uses humor to convey some serious messages.
Like “Buckle up. Drive safe. Love Mom.”
Or “Eyes on the road. Head out of apps.”
And you’ve got to like “Did you run out of blinker fluid?”
Just drove past a MODOT sign that said "Slow Down Your Mom Is Watching" on the highway and I applaud you MODOT for getting these jokes off.

“Over 90 percent of crashes are attributable to human errors,” Linda Wilson Horn, a communications director with MoDOT, told the Post-Dispatch. “So we were struggling to get these numbers down, and had to somehow try to get people to be more conscientious.”
