Getaway fails as suspected bank robber is nabbed quickly in Overland Park
A man suspected of robbing an Overland Park bank Tuesday afternoon hadn’t gotten far before police were zeroing in on his escape.
A man witnesses described as being in his mid-30s in a white shirt and khaki shorts walked into the U.S. Bank, 9900 W. 87th St., about 12:50 p.m. and handed a teller a note.
He left with an undisclosed amount of cash, but was quickly being watched by law enforcement. Overland Park police arrested a suspect without incident within minutes less than a mile away in the 8300 block of Melrose Street.
