Grass fire in Cass County under control; Missouri 2 is reopening

A grass fire in Cass County on Wednesday afternoon that was estimated to be as large as 100 acres is under control, officials said shortly before 7 p.m.

The blaze shut down Missouri 2 between Holmes and State Line roads. Crews from eight fire departments in both Missouri an Kansas were called in to fight the blaze, which was fueled by strong winds. The highway was being reopened.
