A 8-year-old girl died Monday after being seriously hurt in an automobile crash Wednesday at Gregory Boulevard and the Paseo.

Elise Johns suffered multiple seizures following the crash and had no brain activity.

“After 5 long days of battling Elise has gone to be with Jesus,” Jason Johns said in an update Monday night on the family’s GoFundMe page. “There is a time to hold on and a time to let go. We have been holding on hoping, fighting and believing for a miracle but for Elise it is time to let her go. I do not pretend to understand why some get healed and some don’t. The thing we don’t let go of is our faith and belief that miracles do happen and that God is good!”

Jason Johns had been driving his three children to school when his vehicle collided with another. He is a pastor who works without pay. His wife, Sarah Johns, is a fitness instructor.

Their other daughter, Hope Johns, and son, Kaden Johns, were injured in the wreck. But Jason Johns had some good news in his update.

“Our deepest pain has turned to rejoicing!” he posted. “As I sat here undone in a state of numb shock that my baby is gone trying to think of what to say, Kaden came running from Hopes (sic) room yelling, she moved her feet dad! She moved her feet! So on the heels of gut wrenching heartache we have our miracle!”

As of Monday evening the GoFundPage had raised nearly $121,000 of a $150,000 goal.
