Driver dies after vehicle hits utility pole in KCK

A man in his early 20s died Monday morning when his vehicle hit a telephone pole in Kansas City, Kan., police said.

The 1:43 a.m. wreck happened at 18th Street and State Avenue as the man was northbound on 18th Street. The victim died at the scene, said police, who were withholding his name until relatives could be notified.
