Motorist is killed when SUV strikes I-635 overpass pillar in Kansas City, Kan.
A woman was killed early Friday when the SUV she was driving ran into a pillar of the overpass at Interstate 635 and Leavenworth Road, according to Kansas City, Kan., police.
Police later identified the woman as Shannon E. Keithley, 39, of Kansas City, Kan.
Officers responded to the wreck just after 5 a.m. It appeared Keithley was eastbound when her vehicle left the road and struck the pillar.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
