It’s time to bash trash in Missouri
Missouri is asking people to participate in its annual “Bash Trash” campaign to pick up litter throughout the state.
The Department of Conservation and Department of Transportation want spring cleaning in April to include trash removal from roadsides, parks, neighborhoods, waterways and trails. The transportation department alone spends about $6 million a year in trash pickups along state roads. Trash also is a danger to wildlife.
Last year, more than 1,200 groups including 14,000 volunteers participated in the Trash Bash. For more information or to participate, go to www.nomoretrash.org or call 1-888-ASK-MODOT.
