Kansas City back to school fest re-set for two hours earlier to avoid rain

The rainy weather forecast for Saturday, has forced Kansas City Public School officials to push up the day’s back-to-school Summerfest two hours.

Summerfest is now scheduled to run from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Free Kansas City Area Transportation Authority event shuttles will start running at 7 a.m. from Northeast High School, Central, East and Southeast high schools and Manual Career and Technical Center.

This year’s Summerfest event is being held across from the KCPS district offices at 2901 Troost Ave.
