Several multiple vehicle crashes along Interstate 35 in Johnson County slowed rush hour traffic to a crawl Tuesday morning.

The multi-vehicle crashes were reported about 7:30 a.m. — one along northbound I-35 past Johnson Drive and two along southbound I-35 past 75th Street.

The crashes caused northbound I-35 to be backed up past 87th Street Parkway and southbound I-35 to be backed up to almost 18th Street Expressway, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.

Drivers headed to and from Johnson County along I-35 should seek alternative routes to avoid the delays.
