An ozone alert has been issued for Tuesday, meaning people are encouraged to take the bus or carpool.

An ozone alert from the Mid-America Regional Council indicates an unhealthy level of ground-level ozone, the primary cause of which is vehicle emissions. According to MARC, 83 percent of Kansas City-area workers commute alone.

Ride KC bus fares will be 75 cents for all local and express routes.
