Several Kansas landmarks, including the Amelia Earhart Memorial Bridge in Atchison, will be bathed in orange light this week to highlight work zone safety.

The 87th Street bridges over Interstate 35 and the fountain in front of Lenexa City Hall will also be lit with orange as the Kansas Department of Transportation focuses on the hazards that highway workers and motorists face during construction season.

Other structures getting the orange treatment include the Eisenhower State Office Building, Governor’s Mansion, Visitor’s Center, and city hall in Topeka and the Kansas Turnpike Authority in Wichita. Thursday is Go Orange Day in Kansas.
