KC police release name of motorcyclist killed in Northeast wreck
Kansas City police on Monday released the name of a motorcyclist who was killed in a wreck Friday at Saida Street and Hardesty Avenue in the Northeast neighborhood of Kansas City.
Police identified the motorcyclist as William E. Dowell, 40, of Kansas City.
According to police, officers were called to the scene shortly after 6 p.m. Friday. The investigation determined that Dowell had been traveling north when a vehicle backed out of a residential driveway into his path.
Dowell’s motorcycle struck the left side of the vehicle, and he suffered severe head injuries. He was not wearing a helmet, according to police.
Dowell died shortly after arriving at a hospital.
The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
